Having your KYC verification rejected or wondering why your KYC verification keeps failing? Most KYC verification failures happen because of simple issues with your government-issued ID, personal information, address, or submitted documents. In many cases, correcting these details and resubmitting your information is all that's required.

Here's what to check before you try again:

1. Uploading a blurry or poorly lit photo

Poor lighting and blurryimages are among the most common reasons verification fails. Take your photo ina well-lit space, ideally near natural light, and make sure the image is infocus before uploading. Avoid using flash directly on the ID as it can createglare that obscures important details

2. Cutting off part of your ID

Your entire ID needs to be visible in the frame — no cropping, no cut-off edges. Lay your ID on a flat, plain surface and capture the full document, all four corners included, before uploading

3. Your name doesn’t match your ID

If your ID reads "Adebayo Oluwaseun Martins," that's exactly what should go into the form — middle name included, no abbreviations, no nicknames. Any mismatch between what you type and what appears on your document can cause a rejection.

4. Using an incomplete address

Don't shorten or abbreviate your address. Write it out in full — street name, house number, area, and city — exactly as it would appear on an official document. Partial addresses are a common point of failure.

5. Getting your postcode wrong

An incorrect postcode is easy to overlook but will flag your submission. If you're unsure, cross-reference it with a recent utility bill, bank statement, or a trusted postcode lookup tool before submitting.

6. Writing your state name in the wrong format

When filling in your state, write just the name — "Lagos," not "Lagos State." "Abuja," not "FCT Abuja." This small formatting detail matters more than it might seem.

7. Being inconsistent about yourfinancial profile

Your employment status, source of funds, and expected account activity should all reflect your actual situation. Inconsistencies between these fields can trigger additional review. There's no right or wrong answer — just be honest and consistent. If your expected account activity is high, be prepared to provide supporting documentation if requested.
