New York turned green and white over the weekend.

We joined thousands of Nigerians at the annual Nigeria Independence Day Parade and Festival in New York City to celebrate 66 years of Nigerian independence.

From the parade kick-off on 54th Street to Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza, there was music, food, culture and plenty of Nigerian energy. Patoranking, Runtown and BNXN brought the Afrobeats, while the crowd brought the rest.

For a few hours, Manhattan felt a little closer to home.

But that connection to home goes beyond celebrations.

For Nigerians living abroad, home is still part of everyday life. There are parents to support, siblings in school, bills to sort out, businesses to fund and family members who occasionally send that familiar message: “Abeg, send me small money.”

And moving that money home isn’t always as easy as it should be.

Different currencies, transfer delays, exchange rates and fees can turn a simple transfer into a frustrating process.

That’s one of the problems OneDosh is built to make easier.

OneDosh brings cross-border money movement into one app. Users can hold USD and NGN, send and receive money, convert currencies and spend globally with virtual and physical cards.

So whether you’re earning abroad, sending money home, receiving international payments or getting ready for your next trip to Nigeria, your money can move with you.

Because being far from Nigeria doesn’t mean being disconnected from it.

That was the spirit of the Independence Day celebration in New York, and it’s the kind of connection we’re proud to support.

Nigeria at 66.
Home, wherever you are.
